Using the Toolset

EBSM presents a large number of Tools that work together to create a well stocked Library Service full of high quality, relevant books.

It is important that the Tools are used in an order that provides optimum value. Best possible value can be achieved by executing all of the Tools in a particular sequence.

However the methodology recognises that not all users will be in a position to carry out all steps. For example, for some Library Services that work as part of a consortium, the Inter Authority Transfer tool will add considerable value, but for others who are not yet ready for this for logistical reasons, a high performing EBSM outcome can still be obtained by opting out of using this Tool and following the rest of the methodology as closely as possible.
